3 Days Marrakech Desert Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Dades Valley.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech at 8 AM. The drive will take us through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka Pass, where you can enjoy the views of the mountains and Berber villages.
Our first stop is Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, an old fortified village and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many films and shows were made here, like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the Kasbah, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will pass through Ouarzazate, drive through Skoura with its beautiful palm groves, and then Kalaat M’Gouna, known for its roses. Just before we check into our hotel in the Dades Valley, we’ll visit the unique rock formations called “Monkey Fingers.” We will spend the night in a hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Merzouga Desert.
After breakfast, we will head to Tinghir and visit the Todra Gorge. This is a narrow valley with high cliffs and a small river. You can take a walk in the gorge or just enjoy the view.
We will then drive through Tinejdad and Erfoud on the way to Merzouga. When we reach Merzouga, you will ride camels into the desert and watch the sunset over the dunes. At the desert camp, you will have dinner, listen to Berber music around the fire, and sleep in a tent under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga ⇢ Draa Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Marrakech.
Wake up early to see the sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, we will ride camels back to Merzouga and start the drive to Marrakech. On the way, we will pass through the Draa Valley, known for its palm trees and Kasbahs.
We will stop for lunch in Ouarzazate and then cross the High Atlas Mountains again. We will arrive back in Marrakech around 6 PM.
