8 Days Tour Tangier to Marrakech Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier ⇢ Chefchaouen.
We’ll pick you up in Tangier and begin our tour through the beautiful Rif Mountains. Along the way, you’ll enjoy wonderful mountain views before arriving in Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous Blue City.
After checking into your riad, you’ll have time to explore the charming blue streets, visit Outa El Hammam Square, and walk to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views over the town.
Overnight stay in a traditional riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen ⇢ Volubilis ⇢ Meknes ⇢ Fes.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Chefchaouen and head to Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman archaeological site in Morocco. Walk among ancient columns, mosaics, and historic ruins that date back thousands of years.
Next, we’ll visit Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Explore the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, Lahdim Square, and the historic medina.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a beautiful traditional riad.
Day 3: Guided Exploration of Fes.
Today you’ll discover the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco with an experienced local guide.
Visit the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University, considered the oldest university in the world, explore the beautiful Bou Inania Madrasa, and visit the famous Chouara Tanneries.
You’ll also wander through the narrow streets of Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with traditional markets, artisan workshops, and historic monuments.
Overnight in Fes.
Day 4: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga Desert.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Fes and travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets and European-style architecture.
We’ll then visit the cedar forests near Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to see wild Barbary macaques.
After lunch in Midelt, we’ll continue through the spectacular Ziz Valley, famous for its thousands of palm trees and stunning panoramic views.
By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga. Here you’ll ride camels across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi while enjoying one of the most beautiful sunsets in Morocco.
Dinner and overnight in a Sahara Desert camp.
Day 5: Desert Discovery.
Today is dedicated to exploring the Sahara Desert and discovering local culture.
We’ll visit Khamlia village, known for its traditional Gnawa music, and meet local nomadic families who still live in the desert.
You’ll also visit the old Mifis mines, explore black volcanic desert landscapes, and enjoy incredible views of the surrounding dunes.
During the afternoon, you can relax, try sandboarding, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara.
Dinner and overnight in Merzouga.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Valley.
Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes before breakfast.
We’ll then visit Rissani, a historic desert town famous for its traditional market and rich history.
Next, we’ll continue to Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural attractions. Enjoy a walk through the canyon surrounded by towering cliffs.
Later, we’ll travel through the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its unusual rock formations and stunning landscapes.
Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse in Dades Valley.
Day 7: Dades Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Aït Ben Haddou ⇢ Marrakech.
After breakfast, we’ll drive along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco.
We’ll then visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most famous historic sites in Morocco and a filming location for many international movies and TV series.
After exploring the kasbah, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for photos along the way.
Arrive in Marrakech in the evening and spend the night in a riad.
Day 8: Guided Exploration of Marrakech.
Today you’ll discover the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide.
Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the beautiful old medina.
Explore the colorful souks, enjoy the lively atmosphere of Jemaa El-Fnaa Square, and visit the famous Majorelle Garden.
At the end of the tour, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable 8-day Morocco adventure.
