8 Days Tour Tangier to Marrakech Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier ⇢ Chefchaouen.
As you make your way to Tangier, a city that meets both Europe and Africa, you embark upon an adventure in a bustling coastal city. The drive amid the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, which is the famous “Blue Pearl” of Morocco, is quite scenic.
Get lost in its blue washed meandering streets, make a walk through Outa el Hammam square, and you can have a good bird’s eye view of the whole city from the Spanish Mosque.
In the evening, you will stay in a charming riad.
Day 2: Chefchaouen ⇢ Volubilis ⇢ Meknes ⇢ Fes.
ake a trip to Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman ruins, where all the intricate beautiful mosaics and doorways that great ancient Roman architects made can be seen still up to now. Meknes is also known as the imperial city for its famous Bab Mansour gate, one of the tall gates in the city.
Your arrival in Fes is set for the afternoon, there you will settle in your traditional riad and then proceed to explore the city with its lively atmosphere.
Day 3: Guided Exploration of Fes.
Join a local guide who will walk you through the secrets of Fes city. You will be taken to Al-Qarawiyyin University, strolling around the ancient medina, and also getting to see the traditional leather-making process at the tanneries.
Discover important epic buildings such as Medersa Bou Inania and the Nejjarine Fountain. After that, enjoy a Moroccan meal in the center of the city.
Day 4: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga Desert.
A drive through the scenic Middle Atlas, the other side of the mountain, stopping at Ifrane, also known as “Little Switzerland” is possible. Instantly, you will observe the cedar forests and see the Barbary macaques play.
As you pass through the Ziz Valley, you will not only see beautiful scenery but you will also see the small towns around the valley. Merzouga, where the camels are waiting to take you on this fantastic trek through the dunes.
Morocco has a magic sun setting in the desert hence you will have the chance to enjoy it before camping under a sky that is perfectly starred.
Day 5: Desert Discovery.
Get to know the beautiful Sahara with a full day of exploring the desert. Visit nomadic families, visit Khamlia the village famous for its Gnawa music, and then explore the rugged landscapes of black desert.
Discover fossil-rich sites and a panorama view before retreating to your camp for another night in the dunes.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Valley.
Early dawn over the dunes and depart from here to Rissani, a historical desert town with a buzzing market. Then proceed to Todra Gorge-a magnificent canyon with by walls of sheer rock excellent for an explorer.
Travel across the Dades Valley – extremely well known due to the curiously made rock formations and ancient kasbahs. Overnight stay at a cosy guesthouse with a valley view.
Day 7: Dades Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Aït Ben Haddou ⇢ Marrakech.
take this famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs”, one stop to the metropolis of films in Morocco, Ouarzazate. Explore the listings under UNESCO; Ait Ben Haddou, the ancient ksar well-known for its cinematic history.
Traverse the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoyed some great sceneries on the way before reaching Marrakech, where you will be settling into a traditional riad.
Day 8: Guided Exploration of Marrakech.
It is the last day to discover the vibrant “Red City.” From the Koutoubia Mosque through Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs, discover some interesting landmarks. Roame into the colorful souks; feel the energy in Jemaa el-Fnaa square and take some very traditional Moroccan tea on a rooftop terrace.
Conclude this lifetime experience with the impressive city registration in Marrakech, where you can continue exploring further or catching a flight.
