4 Days Marrakech Desert Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Skoura ⇢ Rose Valley ⇢ Dades Valley.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 8:00 AM and begin our adventure towards southern Morocco.

We’ll cross the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way to enjoy panoramic views and take photos of traditional Berber villages.

Our first major stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most important historical sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll have time to explore the ancient village and admire its impressive architecture.

After lunch, we’ll continue through Ouarzazate and the palm groves of Skoura before passing through Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses.

Before arriving in Dades Valley, we’ll stop to admire the unique Monkey Fingers rock formations and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Day 2: Dades Valley ⇢ Tinghir ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Merzouga Desert.

After breakfast, we’ll continue through beautiful mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages towards Todra Gorge.

You’ll have time to walk through the canyon, enjoy the fresh air, and admire the towering rock walls that make this one of Morocco’s most famous natural attractions.

We’ll continue through Tinejdad and Erfoud, a town famous for fossils and date production, before arriving in Merzouga.

In the late afternoon, your camel adventure begins. We’ll ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and stop to watch a breathtaking sunset over the Sahara Desert.

After sunset, we’ll continue to the desert camp where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Nkoub ⇢ Agdz ⇢ Ouarzazate.

We’ll wake up early to enjoy a magical sunrise over the Sahara Desert before breakfast.

After a camel ride back to Merzouga, we’ll begin our journey towards Ouarzazate.

Our first stop is Khamlia village, famous for its traditional Gnawa music and cultural heritage.

We’ll then visit Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional market and its important role in ancient caravan trade routes.

The journey continues through the beautiful Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s longest valleys, famous for its palm groves, kasbahs, and desert scenery.

We’ll pass through Nkob and Agdz before arriving in Ouarzazate in the evening.

Day 4: Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Telouet Kasbah ⇢ Marrakech.

After breakfast, we’ll explore Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Morocco.

You’ll have the opportunity to visit Taourirt Kasbah and, if time allows, Atlas Studios, where many famous movies have been filmed.

We’ll then return to Ait Ben Haddou for another opportunity to explore this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site and capture more photos.

Next, we’ll visit the historic Telouet Kasbah, once home to the powerful Glaoui family and one of Morocco’s hidden treasures.

Finally, we’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains once again via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech during the late afternoon or early evening.
