6 Days Tour From Casablanca Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca ⇢ Rabat ⇢ Chefchaouen.
The Moroccan odyssey would start from Casablanca, where one can experience the modern and archaic frugal charms of the land. Take inspiration at Hassan II Mosque-the world’s one of biggest mosques, followed by walking along the corniche to breathe in the Atlantic air.
From Casablanca, a drive to Rabat, the capital city with the purpose to explore remnants of the royal legacy. You will be taken on a tour to the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the magnificent Kasbah of the Udayas in Rabat.
Take in the scenic drive via the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the so-called blue city, where you will enjoy the tranquility and serenity here in these infamous blue-washed streets.
Day 2: Chefchaouen ⇢ Fes.
From Chefchaouen, this historic and cultured city, we start our journey to Fes. On the road, rolling hills give way to expose a glimpse into rural life and Berber villages. In the evening, you are at your leisure to wander up and down Fes’ narrow and lively back streets, drinking in Fes’ gentle magic.
Day 3: Guided Tour of Fes.
Today, a more intimate side of Fes is explored in depth with an included guided tour through the ancient medina-a UNESCO World Heritage site, Fes being the spiritual and intellectual center of Morocco. Indeed, the streets are lined what seems endlessly with historic monuments.
Among the most famous are Al Quaraouiyine University-the oldest continuing university in the world-and the stunning Bou Inania Madrasa. You will also explore the busy leather tanneries, where methods for dyeing leather have remained the same for centuries.
As you wander through the medina, your guide enlivens the rich history of the city-the overall feeling will surely be lovely.
Day 4: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Azou Cedar Forest ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga Desert.
On this day, we leave Fes to head toward the pretty town of Ifrane, having the alpine feel so often nicknamed “Little Switzerland.” From there, continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains with their extensive patches of forest and picturesque villages. Then we continue into the Ziz Valley, one vast oasis of palm groves. Finally, you will be taken to Merzouga, where magic scents emerge from the Sahara Desert.
You will mount a camel and venture into the dunes for a slow ride to catch the most glorious sunset over beautiful golden sand. You will spend your night in a traditional desert camp, with nothing but the silence of the Sahara and the starry sky.
Day 5: Merzouga ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Gorges.
You will see the fantastic landscape of sunrise in the desert, then drive back to Merzouga.
After breakfast, you will head towards Rissani, the place where you will see the colored market and ancient ksars of the town. Later, we continue to Todra Gorge, the most impressive natural wonders of Morocco. It cuts a high canyon and is set against vertical cliff formations hundreds of meters above you. Amazing views await.
We go further to the Dades Gorge, that is famous with its strange rock formations and the fertility of their valleys. Some time for exploring before retiring for the night in a beautiful Guesthouse in the Dades valley.
Day 6: Dades Gorge ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Marrakech.
After breakfast, we exit the Dades Gorge and drive across the picturesque Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs with its Berber settlements and rich palm grove flora. The first stop is Ouarzazate, the Moroccan Hollywood, where you can visit the Atlas Film Studios and take a tour of the famous shooting sites.
We then carry on to Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village of mud-brick kasbahs that made its way into a number of Hollywood films and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring a serpentine alley and historic burghal homes, we ascend into the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass for breathtaking views.
Late in the afternoon, we reach Marrakesh, where your Moroccan adventure will end.
