4 Days Tour Ouarzazate to Marrakech Itinerary
Day 1: Ouarzazate ⇢ Aït Ben Haddou ⇢ Dades Gorges .
Your journey to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert,” one of the leading film studios in Morocco. We drive towards Aït Ben Haddou, which stands proud as a striking edifice of red clay that has starred in numerous Hollywood films. Walk through its narrow alleys, reminiscent of times when history came to life through the kasbahs and traditional Berber architecture, well preserved.
Drive on to the Valley of Roses famed for its aromatic rose fields; thereafter, we arrive at the Dades Gorges, which offers scenic views of dramatic rock formations and sinuous roads. At the end of the exploration, you will relax at a wonderful guesthouse and enjoy Moroccan dinner.
Day 2: Dades Gorges ⇢ Todra Gorges ⇢ Merzouga Desert.
After breakfast, we go deep into Morocco’s rugged field to arrive at the towering Todra Gorges, a paradise for rock climbers and nature lovers. Walk into the canyon where it stops to talk about sheer crags lit with light and shadow.
Afterward, we drive towards the heart of the Sahara Desert, passing through small Berber villages and ever-changing landscapes. By the afternoon, we shall arrive in Merzouga, where the caravan of camels awaits you. While the sun is setting down, take a camel trekking expedition into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi-an out-of-this-world and breathtaking experience.
Upon arrival at your desert camp, receive a warm Berber welcome, enjoy a wonderful dinner, and be swept away by the rhythms of traditional music under the beautiful star-lit sky.
Day 3: full day in the desert of Merzouga..
This day is dedicated to the marvelous explorations of the Merzouga Desert during various adventures in the desert after breakfast, including off-road expeditions through the vast desert landscapes, other than visits to nomadic families for fossil sites and the unique black desert of Khamlia.
While at Khamlia, you will have the chance to witness the performance of traditional Gnawa music. Enjoy a tea break before your local hosts and simply enjoy the serenity while embracing the shifting sands in the desert.
Comfortably return to your hotels and camp, ending with a night under the splendid Saharan sky.
Day 4: Merzouga ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Marrakech.
A very early start gives you a grand display of the rising sun in the desert, which creates an unforgettable experience when the golden and amber dunes epitomize this view. After breakfast, we start heading back through the Drâa Valley, a lush green corridor of palm groves and ancient kasbahs set against a stunning backdrop of arid surroundings.
We continue through the High Atlas Mountains on scenic roads that pass through charming Berber villages with stunning views. By evening, you will arrive in Marrakech having visited energy-filled Red City, thus ending this amazing desert adventure.
