6 Days Tour Tangier to Marrakech Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier ⇢ Chefchaouen.
The road lies toward Chefchaouen through the stunning Rif mountains. On arrival, soak up the lazy orient ambiance of the “Blue Pearl.”
Head out on a walking tour through the maze of blue-painted streets, enjoying the vibrant main square of Outa el Hammam while enjoying picturesque views from the Spanish Mosque.
Overnight stay in an authentic riad in the midst of a serene mountain ambiance.
Day 2: Chefchaouen ⇢ Volubilis ⇢ Meknes ⇢ Fes.
Leave Chefchaouen behind and make your way to the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, an ancient site decorative of fabulous mosaics and large arches. Then it goes to Meknes with its grand city gates and historic monuments, the most notable of which is Bab Mansour.
Afternoon arrival in Fes, the cultural and spiritual core of Morocco, where your wandering will take you into the maze of the oldest university in the world, the riot of colors in the souks, and the traditional tanneries. Overnight in a historic riad.
Day 3: Guided Tour of Fes.
Discover the vibrant city of Fes on a guided tour. You will visit the ancient Al-Qarawiyyin University, the narrow lanes of the souks, and the intricate architecture of the Medersa Bou Inania.
Wander through the famous dye pits and the beautiful Andalusian Quarter, and savor a delicious Moroccan lunch before continuing your guided tour of hidden gems the city of Fes has to offer. Overnight at Riad.
Day 4: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Middle Atlas Mountains ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga.
Leave Fes, passing through Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” stopping to see the Macaques Barbary monkeys playing in the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas.
The journey will head south through the lush Ziz Valley – filled up with date palms and ancient kasbahs. Upon reaching Merzouga, switch to camels and travel back into the haunting dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Relish one unforgettable sunset before you settle into the tented desert, where traditional Berber music and a starlit sky will create magic.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Valley.
Rise early to see the sunrise over the dunes, flooding the vast desert with golden light. After breakfast, visit Rissani, the ancient trading center of the region, with its busy souk and ancient past. Proceed toward Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon whose steep, red cliffs invite exploration.
As the journey winds on, travel across the picturesque Dades Valley, well-known for its unique rock formations and ancient casbahs.
Spend the night at a lovely guesthouse overlooking the valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Aït Ben Haddou ⇢ Marrakech.
Be intoxicated by this fragrant pink bloom during spring from the Road of 1000 Kasbahs leading into the Valley of Roses.
