Spend the night in a desert camp with traditional dinner, music, and a sky full of stars.
The next day, wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, travel through the green palm groves of the Ziz Valley and stop near Ifrane, known for its cool climate and cedar forests. The trip ends in the historic city of Fes in the afternoon.

2 Days Marrakech Desert Tour to Fes Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Merzouga
Early in the morning, take a short ride from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. The journey includes the magnificent High Atlas Mountains with dramatic mountain peaks, twisting road turns, and charming Berber villages. The first stop is Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, UNESCO’s World Heritage-listed place and a famous film shooting location for movies like Gladiator and Games of Thrones. This would allow time for some to visit the Kasbah.
The trip along the long Independence Road continues via Merzouga, where you will begin the real desert adventure. On the way through small towns and the rugged landscape of mountains, we will stop in a local restaurant for lunch, where we can taste traditional Moroccan dishes.
Ultimately, at Merzouga, the magic would unfold as a desert safari ride on camels. Take your camel and start the soft ride into Erg Chebbi’s Golden Dunes. The silence in the desert is exceptional. When you reach the high you will witness an unforgettable sunset. The views take your breath away.
After sunset, enjoy a lovely Berber-style dinner at a traditional desert camp. After dinner, we will gather around a campfire, listen to the local Berber drumming, and share stories, while gazing up at the stars, embracing the essence of the desert.
Day 2: Merzouga ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Fes
Wake up early on the second day for the spectacular sunrise over the dunes—what a sight as golden light spreads across the sand! Following moments of tranquility, a return to the camp shall be made for a warm breakfast before continuing toward Fes.
Driving past the scenic and palm-rich Ziz Valley, we’ll stop to take photos along the way. Lunch break will be in Midelt, with time to sample more local fare before continuing our journey.
We’ll make a scenic detour through cedar forests near Ifrane, where Barbary monkeys might cross your path. This is a lovely place for a short walk before heading off to Fes.
By late afternoon, we expect to reach Fes, and with some time on our hands, you would be able to either simply relax or explore the old medina of the city.
