7 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech Itinerary

Day 1: Fes Guided City Tour

We’ll start your 7-day tour by exploring the beautiful city of Fes with a local guide. Fes is Morocco’s oldest imperial city and one of the country’s most important cultural and religious centers.

You’ll walk through the narrow streets of the ancient Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit famous places such as Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, the Chouara Tanneries, the Royal Palace gates, and the local souks.

After the tour, you’ll have free time to relax or explore more of the city on your own.

Day 2: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Cedar Forest ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we’ll leave Fes and travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains.

Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets and European-style buildings. We’ll continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to see the famous Barbary macaques.

We’ll stop for lunch in Midelt before driving through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, known for its thousands of palm trees and amazing panoramic views.

By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga. Here, you’ll ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes while watching one of the most beautiful sunsets in Morocco.

After arriving at the desert camp, you’ll enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, traditional Berber music around the campfire, and a peaceful night under a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Full Day Exploring Merzouga Desert

Wake up early if you’d like to watch the sunrise over the dunes before enjoying breakfast.

Today we’ll explore the Sahara Desert by 4×4. We’ll visit Khamlia Village, where you’ll enjoy traditional Gnawa music performed by local musicians.

Next, we’ll visit nomadic families living in traditional desert tents and learn about their daily life and culture while sharing a cup of Moroccan tea.

We’ll also visit the seasonal Dayet Srij Lake, which often attracts flamingos and other birds during the wet season, and explore the nearby desert landscapes, fossil sites, and black volcanic desert.

You’ll have time to try sandboarding or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

In the evening, we’ll return to your hotel in Merzouga for dinner.

Day 4: Merzouga ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Valley

After breakfast, we’ll leave the desert and head to Rissani, a historic town famous for its traditional market. If it’s a market day, you’ll have time to explore the lively souk where local people come to buy spices, dates, animals, and handmade products.

We’ll continue through small Berber villages until we reach the spectacular Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive canyons. You’ll have time to walk along the river and admire the towering rock walls.

After lunch, we’ll travel through the beautiful Dades Valley, passing unique rock formations and traditional kasbahs.

Day 5: Dades Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll drive along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco.

We’ll visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most beautiful ancient villages. Many famous movies and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones, were filmed here.

After exploring the kasbah, we’ll cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way for panoramic views and photos.

We’ll arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Guided Tour of Marrakech

After breakfast, you’ll discover Marrakech with a local guide.
